Spanish La Liga 2016-17 TV Channels Broadcasting Worldwide
Spanish La Liga 2016-17 season will starting on Saturday, 20th August
2016 while the official fixture list will be announced on 21st July.
Going into the new season, Spanish FA and all top division clubs will
welcome the new combined TV deal both on domestic and international
territories. Spanish FA has promised extensive LA Liga coverage

Spanish La Liga authorities has finally put together level playing field in terms of tv rights deal for all the clubs based on collective sale of tv rights rather than each team free to negotiate their own terms. So this week LFP professional league association in Spain struck a massive €600 million deal with spanish telecom company Telefónica who will be paying €600m for the domestic rights deal for 2016-17 season and they will have the ability to show every teams matches in the spanish top 2 divisions.
Another €500-€600 million is expected from the oversees broadcasting rights which will help reduce the tv rights money gap between top two and the rest of the teams in La Liga. La Liga and other top european leagues are trying to model their TV rights sales and distribution on Premier Leagues system where TV moeny is shared equally. La Liga Broadcasting in Spain:
Like we mentioned before 2015-16 season will be exclusive to
“telefonica” who can air all matches on one platform (Movistar+ service)
for the spanish residents. Although its a paid service but subscribers
will only have to spend money on one platform to enjoy all spanish la
liga and div2 matches.
Worldwide Broadcasting:
As far as the worldwide coverage for 2016-17 La Liga season is
concerned, this season the coverage will be even more extensive as La
Liga has sold rights in more territories compared to last few seasons.
